Exercise an hour a day? Disappointing news, for those of us who thought 30 minutes a day would cut it. But according to a recent study, an hour a day is really what's necessary to keep the weight off.

Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh studied 200 overweight and obese women. Over two years, the women who exercised the most and stuck to their diets lost the most weight, and kept it off.

To get into some numbers, these women burned around 1800 calories per week by exercising 275 minutes per week—that’s an average of 55 minutes per day for five days.
